This is a place you visit mainly for its unique and unforgettable atmosphere. The palace interior creates a truly luxurious, high-end vibe.
That said, the atmosphere somewhat overshadows the rest. The service is very good, but the place seems geared toward serving a large number of guests quickly, which can make things feel a bit chaotic at times. The food is good, but it’s definitely not top-tier, and for the taste alone it feels overpriced, you can find better flavors elsewhere for less.
Here, you’re mainly paying for the overall experience. If you come with that mindset, rather than expecting a Michelin-style fine dining experience, you’ll likely enjoy your visit.
Was very disappointed by the chef’s choice steak. It was a rib section called Chuleton. Medium came out rare mostly, and we cut away 1/3 of the mass that was fat or connective tissue. No restaurant should serve that cut of meat. Should have ordered 2 individual steaks of known cut.
Our experience at this restaurant was a massive disappointment. We chose this venue to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday, but the service and food were both unacceptable.
Our first waitress was completely disinterested and made no effort to be helpful. She also lacked basic situational awareness; when my daughter arrived, she was visibly shaken and upset because she had almost been robbed. While we were trying to calm her down and give her support, the waitress just hovered, repeatedly asking “still or sparkling” instead of giving us a moment to breathe. Even with a language barrier, it was incredibly obvious that someone was in distress and we needed space.
The food was just as bad. While the appetizers were okay, the bread was stale and the garlic shrimp were completely flavorless. Except for the steak, the mains were inedible. My husband’s cod smelled so foul he couldn't eat more than a single bite. My prawn was extremely overcooked, tough, and impossible to cut, and the risotto was just mush.
When the waiter asked how things were, we were honest and told him it was absolutely terrible. He gave us a canned response about our feedback being “important” but did nothing else. No manager came to the table, and they didn't even remove the inedible cod from the bill.
We paid the ridiculous bill in full and immediately went to a different restaurant for a proper meal. This was supposed to be a special milestone celebration, but it was a total letdown. The customer service is just as poor as the kitchen at this tourist trap.
